What you will learn

Field skills that matter

  • Explain HFC signal and power flow from headend/node through hardline cascades to the tap
  • Read plant design maps (actives, EOL, tap values, power) and reconcile field work to PDF prints
  • Prep, core, splice, and cut out hardline to craftsmanship standards using size-matched tools
  • Install and verify taps, splitters, couplers, and power-passing passives
  • Replace and align AOI line extenders, mini bridgers, and boosters for forward and return
  • Execute high-split field changes: diplexers, wider-band actives, ingress discipline
  • Test with SLM/OneExpert workflows and troubleshoot coax vs node/fiber boundary faults
  • Apply fiber/node literacy (optical levels, connectors, when to escalate to fiber crews)
